The Being Centre focuses on helping you to set goals for the future and make positive changes in your life
Counselling or Coaching sessions at the Being Centre offers a space in which to explore a range of issues that can cause stress and anxiety in our lives. As an experienced and fully qualified therapist, I have an exceptionally strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others. I have a great sense of personal fulfilment when interacting with people and nurturing their personal development. I endeavour to form a good working relationship with all clients and provide a space for them to discover and realise their human potential.
The relationship between counsellor and client is different from a social relationship, as it provides a professional space in which to explore past and present thoughts and feelings and to help understand current struggles and difficulties. It is as equal as possible, whilst unconditional positive regard and acceptance remains the focus throughout the counselling process. This allows the client to accept the true self as opposed to the false or adapted self that is created by conditioning and limiting beliefs often created in childhood.
On a day to day basis, I meet with people who have a wide range of issues or difficulties. It is often hard for them to find a confidential and safe space in which to explore their individual circumstances. Having time to look more closely at feelings, thoughts and sensations carried through the body can help people make more sense of their lives. Psychotherapeutic counselling involves building an authentic relationship, meaning a space built on respect and empathy. Primarily, counselling is about understanding relationships and the impact they have on our lives
Identifying hopes and fears are important too, as fear and feelings of shame can often stop us living a harmonious life. Sometimes feelings of not being good enough or listening to other people's thoughts and opinions can prevent us from taking risks in life or pursuing our goals. One of my key aims is to encourage people to find their own meaning and value in life; to identify choices; to think about responsibility and the possibility of change.
I offer weekly therapy sessions, using different theoretical approaches to help with difficulties including:
Alcohol or drug dependence
Child related issues
General feelings of unhappiness
Low self esteem
Self confidence concerns
Separation and divorce
Affairs and betrayals
Self development and self knowledge
Work related stress
Consultancy and in-house Training
